We Don't Want Your Data (Seriously!)
Locked In is a privacy-first productivity tool that helps you stay focused and productive.
Let's address the elephant in the room: letting a tool track your activity is a privacy concern (as it should be).
At Locked In, we take privacy seriously. We never store your data, we don't sell your data, and we don't use your data for any purpose other than verifying if you're following your tasks. Your web activity data never gets stored in a database. It's simply verified and discarded.
No storage, no tracking, no selling, no use.
How We Handle Your Data
When you use Locked In, here's exactly what happens:
- Your browser extension monitors your browsing activity (active tab only)
- When needed, it sends what you're currently viewing to our servers
- Our AI model checks if this aligns with your activity goals
- This data is immediately discarded after verification
- No logs, no history, no database entries
We don't need to store your data to help you stay focused. The less we store, the better it is for everyone.
We're actively working towards a future where our AI models become small and reliable enough to run directly in your browser, eliminating the need for any server communication. While current LLMs aren't there yet, we're working hard to achieve this goal, and when we do, Locked In will be the first to provide this functionality.
Fighting Fire with Fire: AI for Good
It's ironic that while privacy concerns are often used to argue against AI in positive productivity tools, the same AI technology is extensively used by social media companies to make their products more addictive. These companies employ sophisticated AI algorithms to:
- Analyze your behavior patterns
- Predict what will keep you scrolling
- Optimize content for maximum engagement (read: addiction)
- Create personalized dopamine triggers
They store years of your data, build detailed psychological profiles, and use AI to keep you hooked. We believe the answer isn't to avoid AI altogether – it's to use it responsibly, for your benefit rather than against you.
That's why Locked In uses AI differently. We use it as a tool for liberation rather than addiction. Our AI helps you break free from these engineered distractions.
